The Old Schoolhouse
61 Tully Road, Irvinestown, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. BT94 1RL ((formerly Killadeas National School)
You will have read the reports - ‘Fermanagh is the happiest place to live’! Come and sample our close to nature and laid back vibe for yourself.
Located of the A47 (Enniskillen to Kesh Road) the Old Schoolhouse is moments away from Lower Lough Erne’s shoreline, a short mile to the Manor House Marina and Manor House Hotel and a dangerously short dander to the Tickety Moo Ice Cream Parlour.
Close by, is the ancient monastic Devenish Island, (accessible via a Water Taxi at Trory) and other spiritual and heritage sites, as well as forest walks and play areas in Castle Archdale, Castle Caldwell also a part of the UNESCO Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark. Choose to travel along the Lower Lough shoreline stopping off at Lusty Beg on Boho Island or the delightful village of Belleek, Lough Navar view point or spend some time in market and Island Town of Enniskillen. Perhaps you’ll choose to climb Cuilcagh Mountain or the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ board walk. If border heights are not your thing, you might delve into times past in one of the two Enniskillen Castle Museums or one of our three National Trust sites (Florencecourt, Crom, Castle Coole).
Whatever your thing - Fermanagh has it and more. And if cooling off in and around the Lakelands isn’t suffice, the Atlantic is a mere 35-40 mins drive away - making the Old Schoolhouse a perfect base and Fermanagh the gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way.
If you simply need to de-compress and chill out with a good book, or tune in to sounds and birdsong of the countryside - the Old Schoolhouse is more than happy to assist you.
Summertime Fermanagh is jammed packed with local festivities and at the end of July/start of August, Enniskillen plays host to the only International Beckett and Wilde Festivals, with activities programmes at usual and unusual venues and locations.
