Old Schoolhouse Woodworks began when I first became a hobbyist beekeeper and bought my fist hive-kit from a well-known distributor of bee equipment. Although the product I recieved was servicable and adequate, I saw I could make a product to rival it. I decided that I would craft a bee hive kit that I could offer to fellow beekeepers. My goal was to offer a first-rate product crafted locally with care and attention to detail.

We offer fast and friendly service and assembly instructions for those that request it.  Most of our orders are completed within two weeks.

At Old Schoohouse Woodworks we hand make woodenware using traditional joinery. We start with eastern white pine, mill it 3/4 inch thick and cut it to Langstroth dimensions. We then construct our woodenware using box joints, rabbets, and frame and panel joinery.  We routinely inspect our box joints to make sure they are tight and up to our standards.

We make standard 10 frame and 8 frame woodenware and can custom items if requested.  Assembly services are available.  Woodenware items can be picked up at the workshop or shipped.

Woodenware

My woodshop is located in the small town of Coventry, Connecticut, behind my home. From this woodshop I strive to produce quality, affordable and local beehive woodenware. Woodenware from my shop is made using eastern white pine in an onsite woodshop.
